WALLINWALL

bachelor solo performance

“Lukas steadfastly and boldly planes a sincere, authentic and urgent statement about himself. The result is a serious, very mature work, not only about otherness, but a universal work on things that grow up and become stuffed inside each of us, to which we get used to when we eventually cease to perceive them, even though they continue to limit and irritate us.“ Maja Hriešik

LIKE NEVER BEFORE

“On the stage, the dancer finds himself almost incidentally, coming unnoticed, casually and calmly. The attention is focused on his arms and legs that move in seemingly random directions. Arms and legs  are folded on one side for a while, then on the other side, as if their function and expediency have been explored. However, all the movements are accurately measured. The performer uses his body as a machine working in one rhythm. He stops momentarily, so he can restart, start and continue cycling, rotating, interconnected, and jerky movements. Emotions are not important. The key is a detail, discovering and observing what is going on with the body here and now. And the end comes as unexpectedly as the beginning. Záhorák (the performer) dances, walks to the door, leaves the room, and closes the door behind him. Applause in front of an empty stage acts as a pure formality. When the dancer comes, his aura is completely transformed. It almost seems like another body has been dancing all the time and the performer was just a demiurgist of the happening. Maybe it was seriously like this. And was the end necessary?” Mária Kobrlová

BETWEEN

It is easier to be carried away by the stream and not to decide for oneself, to be somewhere in between and comfortably accept the  decisions made by the others about one‘s own life. But what happens if the views of the two parts do not coincide and I am a part of both of them? How can this conflict be resolved? To be somewhere between or to incline to one part? Or better to the other one? Please find me a solution.

DOGMATIC STATE OF MIND

Performance during the opening ceremony of photography festival OFF
31st October 2019

Dogma is often just a state of mind in form of construct imposed on an individual by society. The performance, depicting a struggle and an attempt to find a way to cope with these circumstances, is an inner struggle, in direct contrast with the photographic record. Are the photos the reality of the performer´s past or a vision of his future? Freedom is captured here as an ephemeral counterpart to the more grandiose, naturalist reality of performer´s dogmatic state of mind. Are we able to free ourselves from all prejudices and adopt freedom as our primary state of mind?

SILENT

The choreography about three girls and three stories. They are maybe connected and they maybe never met. Three solos that happen by accident at the same time in the same place. Is that like this? Aren't they just three teenage girl rooms when it's raining outside? They are sitting in the comfort of their home by the window and it's raining outside. The silence is magical. They are so quiet ...
